چکیده

This study presents a review on applications of phytase from thermophilic fungal isolate, Sporotrichum thermophile. Under optimization, improvement in phytase production can be achieved in both solid state (2-fold) and submerged (2.6-fold) fermentations. Phytase could also be produced by alginate-immobilized S. thermophile, and enzyme production was sustainable over 5 repeated cycles. Purified phytase is a homopentameric glycoprotein (mol mass, 456 kD) and is optimally active at pH 5.0 and 60°C with a T 1/2 of 16 h at 60°C and 90 min at 80°C. It is insensitive to trypsin and pepsin, and unaffected by EDTA. Phytase has all requisite properties for application as a feed and food additive, dephytinization of soymilk and wheat flour and soil conditioner for plant growth promotion.

Induction of xylanase in thermophilic fungi Scytalidium thermophilum and Sporotrichum thermophile

Regulation of xylanase production in two thermophilic fungi Scytalidium thermophilum and Sporotrichum thermophile was investigated. The expression of xylanase was found to be inducible in both the cases. Various carbon sources were tested so as to identify the inducers. Soy flour and oat spelt xylan induced maximum level of xylanase in Scytalidium thermophilum and Sporotrichum thermophile respe...

Xylanolytic enzymes : X Feruloyl esterases : Pectinases : Phytases :

Table 1 Thermophilic moulds are a potential reservoir of thermozymes which find potential applications in various biotechnological processes (Singh , 2016; Singh, 2016; Maheshwari 2000; Johri 1999). Enzymes from thermophilic fungi often tolerate higher temperatures than enzymes from their mesophilic counterparts and some show stability even at 70-80°C (Singh 2016; Singh, 2016; Johri 1999). It h...

Sporotrichum thermophile Growth, Cellulose Degradation, and Cellulase Activity.

The activity of components of the extracellular cellulase system of the thermophilic fungus Sporotrichum thermophile showed appreciable differences between strains; beta-glucosidase (EC 3.2.1.21) was the most variable component. Although its endoglucanase (EC 3.2.1.4) and exoglucanase (EC 3.2.1.91) activities were markedly lower, S. thermophile degraded cellulose faster than Trichoderma reesei....

Structural characterisation by ESI-MS of feruloylated arabino-oligosaccharides synthesised by chemoenzymatic esterification.

The chemoenzymatic synthesis of feruloylated arabino-oligosaccharides has been achieved, using a feruloyl esterase type C from Sporotrichum thermophile (StFaeC). The structure of the feruloylated products was confirmed by ESI-MS(n).

Production of extracellular pectinolytic, cellulolytic and xylanoytic enzymes by thermophilic mould Sporotrichum thermophile Apinis in solid state fermentation

Among four thermophilic moulds, Sporotrichum thermophile produced high titres of xylanases, pectinases and cellulases after 4 days of incubation in solid-state fermentation (SSF). Of the 27 different combinations of agro-residues tried, wheat bran (WB) and citrus pectin (CP) in 1:1 ratio supported a very high production of enzymes. When the mixed substrate at pH 7.0 was moistened with tap water...
